PPE Support for Small Businesses: Ontario’s Main Street Relief Grant
Many Canadian businesses have had to rapidly adapt their operations in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. For most, these adaptations have brought unforeseen costs attributed to purchasing personal protective equipment for employees.
As a manufacturer of personal protective equipment, The Canadian Shield is committed to making it as easy and affordable as possible for Canadian businesses to keep their employees safe with PPE. One amazing way your business can recover costs incurred on PPE throughout the pandemic is through Ontario's Main Street Relief Grant.
As part of the Main Street Relief Grant, up to 60,000 small businesses in Ontario can receive support to cover the unexpected costs of PPE and supplies needed in order to keep staff and customers safe. This one-time grant can reimburse small businesses for PPE costs incurred since March 17, 2020.
Originally launched in 2020, the Main Street Relief Grant was developed in order to support small businesses in sectors significantly affected by COVID-19, including:
- retail trade;
- accommodation and food services;
- repair and maintenance;
- personal and laundry services;
- gyms and yoga studios;
- arts, entertainment and recreation.
Eligibility
In order to apply for the Main Street Relief Grant, your business must have 2 to 19 employees and be in one of the sectors mentioned above. For more information on eligibility and how to apply, click here.
